What we do?
The Religious
8 priests and 16 religious, including seminarians, religious brothers, and sisters live in the Home of Mercy. The presence of the Religious in the Home gives it a supernatural significance; it shines the light of faith on this great work. They not only lead, but work with their own hands and complete dedication. According to the dignity of children of God, thus all are treated like other Christs: those who suffer like the suffering Jesus, and those who assist, like Jesus the Good Samaritan.
The day of the religious community is marked by two very important moments: the Holy Mass in the morning and the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the evening. The rest of the day is dedicated to the needs of the residents in the various homes.
The Holy Liturgy is the source from which strength and graces flow; and the summit to which all our other efforts and works are directed.
Professionals and Workers
We do everything necessary to carry out this work and for them to experience that God is their Good Father who never abandons them. We therefore try to make their lives as happy as possible.
We have the help of 60 professionals and staff who are paid a deserved salary but who work for the children with great love and charity.
Management and Administration
In this area, administrative tasks are performed to ensure the smooth running of the home. Social workers, health and safety graduates, and accountants collaborate in resource management and meeting the residents´ basic needs, ensuring that everything is in order for their well-being.
Health Care
We have occupational therapists and staff who provide direct assistance and care to the beneficiaries. The home has a team of nurses who work in shifts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, a team of physicians, psychiatrists, and psychologists is responsible for the residents’ physical and mental health, providing continuous and specialized care.
Physical Development
For physical well-being, nutritionists develop balanced and personalized diets, while physical therapists provide rehabilitation and physical maintenance therapies. Equine therapy is also provided, a treatment using horses that promotes emotional and physical development. Physical education teachers organize games and recreational activities so residents can stay active and enjoy outdoor activities.
Education and Training
The home promotes personal development through workshops that teach trades such as carpentry, metalworking, garden and animal care, as well as art. Educational psychologists are also involved in training, offering guidance and educational support.
Spiritual Care
The spiritual dimension, the most important, is addressed through catechism classes, moments of prayer, and the celebration of the sacraments, particularly Holy Mass. Confessions are also offered, a sacrament many of them attend, granting them God’s forgiveness and the grace to improve day by day.
Facilities
The maintenance of the facilities is also important, so that residents can live in a spacious and beautiful place, fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the home. All of this requires an infrastructure that makes them feel in a familiar home in their bedrooms, dining rooms, recreation room, etc., as well as an swimming pool, gym, special school, laundry room, pantry, maintenance room, etc.
In short, the San Martín de Tours Home offers a comprehensive approach to care, combining healthcare, education, physical development, and spiritual support to ensure the well-being and growth of each of its residents. We look for their happiness.
We live for them, and God fills us with blessings, for it will always be true that “there is more joy in giving than in receiving” (Acts 20:35). Our children and elderly themselves are a source of joy and of simple yet profound teachings on how to carry the cross with peace and joy.
Volunteers
Finally, we have the help of volunteers who occasionally collaborate in work and care for our beneficiaries. They come from different places and countries wanting to live this experience of concrete charity. For many their experience has truly been life-changing, helping them grow closer to God. The Home is a living witness to the Gospel; to be a volunteer is to experience it uniquely.

Permanent Volunteers
We also have volunteers or permanent collaborators who live with us for some years and can be volunteers and at the same time take courses or study in universities. They came looking for the religious environment that, by the grace of God, we can offer them at the Home.
