We live dependent on Divine Providence; we have experienced His solicitude from our foundation until today. But God’s Providence indeed wants to act through benefactors who, through their mercy towards Christ’s little ones, receive mercy themselves, as Christ taught in the Beatitudes (Mt 5:7).
There are many expenses that we have for those entrusted to our care: the payment of salaries, food, medicine, fuel, maintenance of the house and vehicles, constructions, outings and field trips, etc.

NEW VEHICLE
FOR OUR CHILDREN
The activities carried out with our transportation vehicles are always for apostolic use and non-profit. The average annual use is 20,000 km per vehicle. We currently have two 15-passenger transportation vehicles for the trips of the home’s beneficiaries. However, these vehicles need to be replaced with new ones due to their age and constant use (see Art. 82 of the Mobility Law of the province of Mendoza, to which we belong). The two passenger transportation vehicles we have are already 13 years old.

SUPPORT THE COST OF PROFESSIONAL CARE FOR A YEAR
One of the monthly operating costs of our Home is the hiring of professional therapeutic assistance to properly address the conditions of our beneficiaries. The current monthly budget, updated as of July 2024, is AR$ 1,524,558.57, equivalent to a monthly value of USD$ 1,180. This is an unavoidable cost that we have been able to cover so far with the help of Providence through our benefactors.

SUPPORT THE COST OF MEDICATION FOR SIX MONTHS
One of the monthly operating costs of our Home is the purchase of specific medication to adequately address the conditions of our beneficiaries. The current monthly budget, updated as of May 2024, is AR$ 3,482,350.05, equivalent to a monthly value of USD$ 3,221. This is an unavoidable cost that arises after deducting the aid provided by the State, which supplies part of the medication; to date, we have been able to cover it with the help of Providence through our benefactors.

A NEW WASHING MACHINE FOR OUR LITTLE HOME
In our little home, clothes are washed for 70 people (more than 50 beneficiaries, plus volunteers and religious workers), distributed in regular shifts. To do this, we have industrial washing machines, which require frequent maintenance and replacement, each with a 7-year lifespan. Of the four washing machines, only one is below this limit, being 5 years old. The project consists of purchasing a new OÑATE brand horizontal 60 kg industrial washing machine, leaving one of the existing ones as a replacement in case of maintenance on one of the currently functioning ones.

A NEW KITCHEN FOR OUR LITTLE HOME
In the kitchen of our house of mercy, we cook for 90 people daily (53 beneficiaries, plus volunteers, religious workers, and employees). The food and cleaning supplies we receive as donations are stored in our warehouses, which are properly hermetically sealed and equipped with cold storage. In order to achieve optimal quality conditions in the kitchen, we need to implement improvements in construction materials (stainless steel countertops and racks) and ensure proper countertop distribution to better serve our beneficiaries.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT CHAMBER AND ITS REUSE FOR AN ECOLOGICAL GARDEN
As part of the daily activities carried out by our residents, we want to implement the “Ecological Garden”, where they can grow their own food and at the same time contribute to the ecological sustainability of San Rafael. For this reason, we have considered building a wastewater treatment chamber; the water obtained will subsequently be used to irrigate the organic garden located near the home. For every 100 liters of treated water per week, 80 liters of irrigation water will be obtained, supplying a 2-hectare area. Irrigation will be carried out three times a week, allowing us to reap the benefits of our crops.
